Martin Keane is President of ICOS and Vice-Chairman of Glanbia Co-operative Society and is also Vice Chairman of Glanbia PLC. He farms at Errill, Portlaoise, Co. Laois and has completed the ICOS Co-operative Leadership Programme. He was appointed to the Board of Glanbia PLC in 2006 and has served six full years on the Board to date. Mr Keane is a member of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee of Glanbia PLC. He is a former director of Co-operative Animal Health Limited. He is also a director of ICS Europaks and is the current Chairman of Donaghmore Famine Workhouse Museum Co-operative Society.
Eamonn Looney is Company Secretary of Dairygold Co Operative Society Ltd. Previous roles held include Group Commercial Accountant at Dairygold and Group Management Accountant at Express Foods Group Ireland. Eamonn is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and completed a Professional Diploma in Corporate Governance from UCD Michael Smurfit Business School in 2012.
Since 2000, Mary McCarthy-Buckley has been Training Manager, Food Industry Training Unit (FITU), UCC managing training and continuing professional development activities in FITU. Mary was Administrator, Faculty of Food Science and Technology, UCC, 1993-2000. She has served as a member, Irish Food Safety Advisory Board; member, Forbairt Food Ingredients Working Group and member, Forfas Committee of the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs. Mary has twenty three years management experience in UCC. She has also worked in FOSS Ireland, BioResearch Ireland and the National Board for Science and Technology.
Seamus O’Donohoe is Chief Executive of the Irish Co-operative Organisation Society Limited. Prior to becoming Chief Executive, Seamus worked in the capacities of Secretary and Director of Member Development for ICOS and previously worked as an Agricultural Advisor in Co Galway. Seamus is the author of a number of co-operative training manuals for directors and managers and has extensive experience in the design and delivery of training programmes on different aspects of corporate governance, co-operative leadership and co-operative law. Seamus is a graduate of University College Dublin with an M’Agr. Sc. in Agricultural Economics and an MBA from the Smurfit Graduate Business School. He is a former chairman of the Forum for the Co-operative Movement in Ireland and is a current Council Member of the National Economic and Social Council.
Alo Duffy is Chairman of Lakeland Dairies. From Corbrack, Ballybay, Co. Monaghan, he was first elected to the Board of Lakeland Dairies in 2010 and was appointed Chairman in 2014. He holds a Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business) from University College Cork, completed under the ICOS Skillnet programme for strategic direction and corporate governance in Irish food companies. He is a Board member of ICOS. A full time dairy farmer, he is also a member of the Breffni/Oriel Holstein Friesian Breeders Club. Lakeland Dairies is one of Ireland’s leading dairy processing co-operatives with operations across fifteen counties on a cross border basis, processing over 1 Billion litres of milk annually into a range of value-added dairy foodservice products and food ingredients which it exports worldwide.

T. J. Flanagan
TJ Flanagan is a UCD Agriculture Graduate who has worked for ICOS since 2000. He works in the area of Dairy Policy although within ICOS he has worked within all industry sectors, including Rural Development, Forestry and Livestock Marts, Veterinary medicines, Milk Quality and currently serves as Secretary to the ICOS Dairy Expert Committee. He is a Board member of the National Milk Agency, the Dairy Research Trust, as well as the Bord Bia SDAS Technical Advisory Committee, and the EU Civil Dialogue Group on Milk. He has extensive experience in Director and leadership training, delivering programmes for ICOS, Macra na Feirme and UCD. Prior to joining ICOS we worked in the Cereal business as a Commercial Manager and Agronomist for Ed Flahavan and Sons.
